Put a popular myth on trial

Uses a courtroom game to distinguish a strong claim from strong evidence.

Prompt

Stage a short, educational mock trial of this claim: [CLAIM]. The judge values accurate sourcing over a dramatic verdict. Use [SOURCES] if provided; if live browsing is available, find primary sources and cite them. If sources cannot be checked, say so and run a hypothetical evidence exercise instead.

Create opening statements for the claim and the sceptic, three exhibits with exact provenance, a cross-examination that spots missing denominators or confounders, and a verdict with confidence and remaining uncertainty. Mark every illustrative character and dialogue line as fictional. Distinguish the date a source was published from when the underlying event occurred.

Give the reader two moments to choose which question to ask next, then explain why that question matters. Do not make a false balance when evidence is one-sided, invent citations or treat a social-media screenshot as a primary source.
