Write instructions that quietly become a story

Choose the harmless task [TASK] and setting [SETTING]. Write seven numbered instructions that genuinely allow a reader to perform the task with the supplied materials [MATERIALS]. Across the steps, reveal an original fictional character's changed relationship to the setting through only observable details. Then provide a plain checklist for a reader who wants only the procedure. Do not hide a safety-critical action in metaphor or invent materials. Check that the checklist and story-steps have identical practical order and that the narrative remains clearly fictional.
